New Brand: Bijouxellery
Bijoux means jewellery in French. so we’re amazed no one has thought to combine the two words before. Until now.
Bijouxellery is a new jewellery brand from Japan founded by Yuki, a graduate of the London College of Fashion. During her time in London, Yuki noticed the typically British trait of pairing brightly coloured accessories with sober business suits to add individuality and modern flair to a traditional office uniform. Inspired by this playful attitude, and after studying at Sotheby’s and working at Vogue Japan, Yuki created Bijouxellery, a new range of men’s accessories.
Featuring brightly-coloured cufflinks, the range works with different themes taking inspiration from candy, lollipops, and fast food. The collection consists of cufflinks at the moment with tie-pins on the way, and plans to include women’s pieces in the future.
Retailing from £65 to £99, the cufflinks come beautifully packaged in boxes reminiscent of macarons containers from Ladurée, and make ideal gifts.
As well as being stocked in menswear stores, we can easily see these in a corner of many a women’s boutique to cater to busy women looking for a last-minute gift for the other half.
Bijouxellery will be making their European trade show debut this coming season when they will be exhibiting at Margin London in August 2013 to showcase their latest collection to the fashion industry.
Margin is the longest-running independent fashion trade show exhibition in London, which has been launching new brands since 2002 and providing an affordable platform for new & young designers to meet with store buyers and fashion press.
Renowned amongst key buyers and press as the launchpad for new brands, men’s and women’s designer and streetwear labels such as Ayame Socks, 1 in a 100, Sugarhill Boutique, Ruby Rocks, Emily & Fin, and Galibardy, all made their UK trade debuts at Margin, which celebrated 10 years of exhibitions in 2012.
The next edition of Margin will be taking place on the 4th & 5th August 2013 at their new venue location of the Westminster Suite at the Hilton London Olympia. For information about visiting Margin, visit here.
