Independent label D4Discus, who we’ve featured previously here, has released a new set of lookbook images which perfectly captures the energy and fun of their designs.
D4Discus are a unique label that take vintage fabrics and trimmings, and create tops, skirts and dresses from their London studio that add vintage flair with a contemporary fit. Vintage silk scarves with beautiful prints are inset into found fabrics to create one-off dresses.
Sourcing beautiful 1960’s vintage fabrics and collecting vintage trimmings, the Japanese-born, London-based designer creates individual clothing that simply can’t be replicated. Each piece is a one-of-a-kind and there’s no risk of anyone else wearing the same outfit.
D4Discus will be exhibiting at the independent London exhibition Margin in August and, as part of the exchange programme with Margin, has been selected, along with two other Margin exhibitors, to exhibit for free at the IFF show in Tokyo from the 17th to the 19th July, to showcase their collection to Japanese stores and press.
IFF, which opens tomorrow at Tokyo Big Sight, is the largest fashion exhibition in Japan and is organised by fashion-press publisher Senken Shimbun, who publish a daily fashion newspaper along with fortnightly and monthly magazines.
Renowned amongst key buyers and press as the launchpad for new brands, Margin is the longest-running, and only, independent fashion trade show exhibition in London, and has been providing an affordable platform for new brands since 2002. Men’s and women’s designer and streetwear labels such as Ayame Socks, 1 in a 100, Sugarhill Boutique, Ruby Rocks, Emily & Fin, and Galibardy, all made their UK trade debuts at Margin, which celebrated 10 years of exhibitions in 2012.
The next edition of Margin will be taking place on the 4th & 5th August 2013 at their new venue location of the Westminster Suite at the Hilton London Olympia. For information about visiting Margin, visit here.
